New York, NY, July 26, 2018 – Over the past five years, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) has grown dramatically from a school club to a national non-profit. Rescuing Leftover Cuisine has rescued over 2 million pounds of leftover food and provided 1.7 million meals to the hungry. In its largest fundraising event yet, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine will present a classical music concert performed by the mother & son two-piano team, Michelle and Christopher Kuo at Carnegie Hall. All proceeds will benefit RLC’s work.

On October 27th at 7pm, the critically acclaimed Michelle Chen Kuo and her son Christopher Kuo will be playing the Two Piano Music of Sergei Rachmaninoff. They are remarkable not only for their immense talent on stage, but for the incredible journey that has brought them this success. Michelle Kuo was a child prodigy who played at sold-out concert halls in Taiwan. Despite a promising career as a pianist, she gave up her dream to tour the world to raise her two sons. Her son Christopher wanted to give her the opportunity again and convinced her to tour with him on their “Two Piano Journey” . As a way of saying ‘thank you,’ their concerts benefit nonprofit organizations. The Kuos chose Rescuing Leftover Cuisine for their largest concert to-date as they were “amazed by founder Robert Lee’s vision for a hunger-free America and his relentless will to turn that vision into a reality.”

So far, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine has raised $75,000 of its $100,000 goal with major sponsors such as platinum sponsor Bregal Partner and gold sponsors Centerview Partners, Greenberg Traurig, LLP and John King. You too can support RLC’s continued expansion and see the Kuo’s performance by sponsoring the event or purchasing tickets for $70/$140. Join RLC at the VIP Donor Appreciation Afterparty by purchasing a sponsorship or premium ticket. For tickets, please visit Carnegie Hall’s page here.
